About Me.

Marcus McCauley – CEO, In Session

Marcus McCauley is an accomplished pianist, composer, and music producer whose journey began at the age of six on his grandmother’s piano in Oakland, California. A gifted musician from an early age, he went on to earn accolades for classical piano performance and became a highly sought-after player throughout the San Francisco Bay Area, especially within the church music community.

Marcus honed his craft at Berklee College of Music, earning a double B.A. in Contemporary Writing and Music Production, as well as Music Business and Management. While at Berklee, he was widely recognized for his exceptional piano work and musical arrangements, collaborating with students and faculty alike.

His debut jazz album New Dawning marked the launch of his recording career and led to the founding of his own production company and label, MMS REC. Marcus has scored two feature-length films and collaborated with a diverse roster of artists and organizations, including Jennifer Hudson, Joe, BeBe Winans, John P. Kee, Lenny Williams, Carl Wheeler, Lawrence Matthews, J. Rosalynn Smith Clark (Opera Noir), the Oakland and Silicon Valley Orchestras, 42nd Street Moon Theater, Shaquille O’Neal’s Comedy Network, and Chase Bank.

In addition to his work as an artist and entrepreneur, Marcus serves as the Director of Arts & Expression at Youth UpRising, where he leads culturally-rooted programming that empowers young creatives. Now, as CEO of In Session, Marcus is committed to transforming the music and entertainment landscape by nurturing the next generation of talent through education, mentorship, and hands-on industry experience. His work bridges artistry, business, and community—building platforms where creativity and impact meet.
